I have these in black in a size 16, I like the fit, but I agree with a previous reviewer that tapering the legs for the women's pants is a good idea and they are a heavy pant. I like my Stryke pants better as they are a lighter material, at least I think they are the Stryke, it would also be good if you put on the care tags which model pants they are like Stryke, or Tactical, etc. I find it hard sometimes to find which line they are when I want to reorder. These are mostly true to size, I normally wear a 16 in jeans and I ordered the 16 in these, still need a belt, they fit good in the waist but very bit in the hips. The other model I have I need to order a size smaller, I got a 16, but it's kind of big, not so much so that I can't wear, I just put a belt on and tighten it to keep them up, they are really really comfortable pants.
I would recommend either one to others
It would be nice to see more variety in the womens line of products.
I love these pants. I currently own two and they have been very useful. I work as a carpenter and electrician so these are wonderful. Only problems with these that I have found is that the fit is weird. I am 5' 3'' so I figured that normal length would work for me but they are still a bit short. Also the legs are not as narrow as the picture would suggest. Overall the are wonderful and get the job done.
I am sure these pants are great if you can get them in your size, however, at 5'8, 115 pounds... they are not for me! I am tall so the tall lengths on these are amazing, but I am also incredibly fit and apparently too thin for this pant. As someone else mentioned, a size 2 is still very large. They are wide in the waist and down through the thighs. The shape and width from the knee down is fine, but that doesn't help much when they don't stay up. 5.11 needs to make a smaller size, or reevaluate their size "2"! If you are under 125 pounds, this might not be the brand for you.
I really love these pants, but they were really long. I had to get them hemmed. Honestly, these are the first pair of 5.11 pants that I've purchased and I liked them the instant I put them on. They're comfortable and durable. They're great for hiking.
One slight issue though is that the fabric is very heavy so I would suggest finding something lighter to wear on hot and humid days.
Legs are too big for these pants. Need to have a taper to them. I have to have mine altered. No 2 pairs fit the same. I have purchased several pairs over the last few years & none of them have fit the same. But the pants are very durable.
I had a difficult time with ordering. First I read the pants "run small" so I ordered a size up. When I got them, they fit JUST RIGHT, but I was afraid I wouldn't be able to tuck my shirt in and be comfortable, and of some shrinkage. So, I ordered a size up. Then I got pants with built in knee pads, which I didn't want, so I returned them, then I got the wrong color, so I returned them, then I got a larger size, tried them on and they were falling off of me. I think these pants are just not for me. My biggest issue is that I have had to return them three times now (I actually combined two shipments into one already and have a third to call in and arrange the return). I have spent as much money in returns as it would have cost me for one pair of pants and I still don't have a pair of pants that fits me. I give up... :-(
These do have a low rise, but it works for me. They are roomy/baggy, and I love that. I don't like restrictive clothing. I did cut off the big loop in the back - don't need it and not the look I want. I wear them almost daily. Got a second color recently. Very durable.
I am a NC Probation Officer. Pants are perfect for work. Although they are heavy, they are durable and will last a long time I can tell. These are my first 5.11's ever. They come in great colors that are professional wear. Will definitly buy a few more pairs.
I really liked these pants. I normally wear a 34" inseam which is hard to come by in women's pants. I bought a size 16 regular and they are a bit too short, but the 16 long were too long and I probably wouldn't have put a new hem in or taken them to the tailor. I have a pair in black and khaki and think they are great for everyday wear. Next time I will buy the long and hem them. They are versatile and clean easily. They are very comfortable. I also purchased shorts in black and khaki and I am very pleased with the quality of the clothing.
I have worn these pants since they were designed. Then about 2-3 years ago they underwent a redesign with a lower waist. It is no longer possible to wear these pants with a gun holster attached to a belt. The lower waist no longer allows for a secure location for a gun. Impossible to draw gun one-handed from a "loose" waist belt. There is no way to anchor a holster without a belt on the natural waist. One of the best pants on the market is no longer available for concealed carry. Please bring back the original high waisted pants.
