ever since ive got this knife ive been finding every excuse to pull it out and use it ! its very light but when you hold it in your hand it is comfortable perfect size and the blade on this thing is so thick at the spine i would expect a blade like that on a fixed blade or much bigger folder all in all a terrific knife durable and you wont be scared to abuse it a little it can take it no problem

Comments about 5.11 Tactical Alpha Scout Folder:

I'm surprised that people haven't tried this knife. It is one lightweight but durable and tough knife. The spear point design is great and the blade shape is efficient for everyday cutting chores. The Aus8 blade holds and edge well. The black oxide coating holds very well and doesn't chip. I have been carrying this knife and using it for a while and I must say that the knife is a thing that should get more attention. There are jimpings on both the top of the knife (both on the blade and handle, and also there are jimpings on the bottom of the knife on the handle. The liner lock is solid although it would be better if it would become a framelock, with the other side of the handle made of FRN. There is no blade play. Maintenance of this knife is easy. Just a few strokes with a ceramic sharpener and the edge can be used again like a scalpel. The pivot point is easy to lubricate with just a drop of your preferred formula (I just spray WD-40). This blade is a great urban environment tool as well as an outdoor tool. This is a slicing and piercing tool. It is not meant for batoning and bush whacking. I highly recommend this knife. I will rate this knife with 5 stars for being the highest. As an EDC knife: ***** As an Urban Survival knife: ***** As a Wilderness Survival knife: *** Value: ***** Quality: ***** For a [$] knife, this is worth buying.
