Great knife! Opens easy and for one handed opening just attach a zip tie in the eye of the knife. And it will open one handed every single time (with practice) great back up weapon. Will buy fixed blade next.

              Comments about 5.11 Tactical C.U.B Master 2.0:

Ok i want to start off by saying that i dont owne the current karambit but i have the previous incarnation and its a solid esign by steve tarani who helped to popularize the karambit in the U.S

The thing i want to state is that if you are worried about drawing the knife to use one handed there is a simple solution. Spend about 1.00 at your local hardware store and buy some zipties. then take one and zip it down tight on the finger hole with the lock part faceing away from the hole so that it forms a ridge in front of the thumb ramp. Now cut off all the excess and burn it slightly so that it wont come undone.

When you draw the knife in a reverse grip catch the zip-tie on the lip of your pants and use the inertia to flip the blade out. With practice it is possible to draw and strike in a single fluid motion.

For military/LEO guys a zip-cuff works even better because it is wider and stiffer.

hope this helps sway any potential buyers towards the 5.11 karambit.

my wife doesnt like it so she wont try to use it, just steal it and hide it from me hence why it a pro and a con, but if i could change some features the biggest thing would be i would love if it was entirely american made, the steel for the blade is advertised as american tempered but tawain is on the blade so it must be assembled there, this is just me but everything is so much better when theres a big ol MADE IN USA stamped on it, the next is if the handle was a little shorter and more compact, its fairly oversized which is great if your wearing gloves, i dont wear bulky gloves and operate a tool at the same time but thats just me, the final thing is on the inside of the handle there is no piece of metal running along teh inside, it might feel slightly sturdier to add that extra .25 ounce of metal for a more solid feel, while all everything i listed would be nice the overall knife is not that bad, sharp out of the box and functions as any tool should and the main reason i only gave 4 stars is because i havent had this knife for very long and the whole made in USA is really big for me

                  Comments about 5.11 Tactical C.U.B Master 2.0:

Knife practitioners NEVER consider edge weapons as a DEFENSIVE weapon. It is an extension of the hand, therefore, offensive... always on the attack.

I checked out this knife from a friend that recently purchased it and I love the feel of it. Very comfortable and smooth... Traditionally, we use a karambit style knife in what most would consider a defensive hold, "ice pick." We call it, "attacking the attack." IMO this should be the primary knife to use against any weapon attack... including guns. Ha. Don't bring a gun to a knife fight.

Not only would I recommend this, I am getting it myself.

The designer, S. Tarani, has studied under some of my current instructors. He is well known and respected in the Filipino Martial Arts circle... although I never met him personally, I consider him one of the greats. I have friends that have had the opportunity to train with him and they speak highly of him.
