Not good for S&W XDM 3.8

By Falcon69

from Northern Virginia

Pros

  • Well Designed For Vests

Cons

  • Xdm Front Sight Snags

Best Uses

    Comments about Holster Pouch:

Well designed for use in internal vest pocket with velcro. Front sight on S&W XDM 3.8 totally snags, rendering it useless for that pistol.

    Not that adjustable

    By Ltr

    Pros

      Cons

        Best Uses

          Comments about Holster Pouch:

I bought this hoping to use it both with pants that support the velcro system, as well as with some bags instead of only having the simple strap around the barrel.

Unfortunately, this is not very adjustable. The only "adjustable" part is the thumb-break retention strap. The pouch itself is not at all adjustable, so if the opening is too small or pouch is too deep, there's nothing you can do.

As another reviewer has stated, this won't fit the M&P9. However, the pouch is also too big to fit the single-stack M&P Shield. The gun pushes in way too far, which sets it at an odd angle that the retention strap won't work with, and leaves no access to the grip for drawing it.

So I don't know what this will fit, but it's not "universal" by any stretch of the imagination.

Comments about 5.11 Tactical Holster Pouch:

I think it's a good idea but I found that when I put it in my 5 in 1 jacket and placed my Glock 23 in the holster it made a rather large print. Granted a Glock 23 isn't a sub compact but considering the size of the jacket I expected it would hide it better. I love the jacket so I either carry IWB or I carry in the t-shirt holster I purchased. I believe it would be just fine for a sub compact though.

Comments about 5.11 Tactical Holster Pouch:

Bought to use with the 5.11 Tactical Vest/Moab 10. Does not fit very well for my Glock 21SF. It will probably work with smaller framed guns, but I can't see using it over a traditional IWB/OWB. Connects well to the vest and the Moab 10, but it's a pain to adjust.

          Rail gets caught on holster!

              Comments about Holster Pouch:

I bought this holster to use with the Covrt18 backpack... and I only bought the Covrt18 because I wanted hidden holster that was solidly attached.

Unfortunately, the rail on my Smith & Wesson M&P9 gets caught on the holster and I can't pull the gun out. There's nothing "covrt" about loud velcro noises and someone tugging away at their backpack.
