Excellent, they stopped the pain.

I recently lost two weeks from work because improper shoe support was resulting in knee pain, and the compensation from the knee pain was causing severe back pain. A combination of these shoes with Foot Levelers pretty much solved the problem. These shoes provided the support and shock absorption needed to prevent pain. Thank you.

About Me Supervisor Power Plant
I'm a Supervisor in a Power Plant and I commonly walk and climb stairs 1+ miles per 12hr shift, including 1+ hours of standing on steel and thick concrete floors. These weigh 2.0 pounds each, and the Bates' 5" ultralites I just returned weigh 1.65 pounds each. I wish these were lighter, but the comfort and stability seam to compensate for that. The Bates' medium width I just returned felt like a wide, were lacking in ankle support, and seemed to be cheaper built. Both these and the Bates have YKK zippers, but these YKK's are 2 x 3 times larger, and much higher quality. The shoestrings on these are twice the size of the Bates', and are much easier to pull tight. The shoestring eyelets on these are also much easier to pull through. The zippers work well to Doff with laces tied, but not to Don with laces tied. The Bates' I just returned would not do either, and the zippers would soon break if forced. These are waterproof and all, but I would prefer a nylon mesh version for better breathability and lighter weight.
