I'm a Marine who now works for a security company. I bought these boots for everyday getting around and work. These boots rocked - lightweight, fast were key qualities; and unscuffable toes were a huge OOHRAH. I could even say they were pretty quiet in warmer months.
One drawback is the rubberized toe, this area collapses at the side of the big toe area. I believe this effect is because the toe area has no real reenforcement inside, hence light fast and quiet - almost like a running shoe.
After one year, the collapsed rubber around the toe area cracked where the toes and foot bend. Also after one year, one of the boots began SQUEAKING around the ball area.

Honestly, I really didn't take care of these boots, because they seemed to rinse off easy after rainy or snowy nights. So I'm not suprised the rubber toe cracked.
The outsoles held up very well, but the SQUEAK is what really bothers me. This could be very nerve-racking to troops whose job is to snoop'n'poop - especially indoors!!!
It's like the last song you'd ever want to hear and all of a sudden it plays and sticks in your head all night long.
But that's after 1 year of non-care through the elements - earth, wind, and water (in all it's forms). And that reminds me, also after 1 year of non-care, the waterproofing held up nicely. But now that the rubber toe cracked, it's time to buy another pair this time for wear and tear WITH CARE; otherwise i gotta find a seriously ninja replacement.

Here's the deal, I highly recommend this to people who just walk around and don't rough house too much unless they have to - maybe a little bit of weekend warrior, and maybe habitual toe scuffers. But for some seriously, highly motivated, ninja MEUSOC/SWAT/ training and operations day after day in any clime and place, I doubt they will last you as long as they lasted me.

This was by far the best boot that I have ever purchased. Working in Central Texas, our summers are hot and dry, and our winters cold and wet. This boot provides excellent breathability. It kept me feet as cool as they possibly could be in the summer, and in the winter, they kept my feet warm. I have been out for hours in rain coming down in buckets, and my feet never even got damp. These boots are light, and comfortable. Chasing bad guys in them was no problem. Other boots were uncomfortable to run in. Not these. And an added plus, when it is time for court, they clean/shine up easily. I have owned mine for just over a year now, and they show very, very little sign of wear and tear. I have recommended them to other officers at work, and they have been very impressed with them as well.

Ive worn these boots for work during the last two years. My shifts are 12 hours and they are very comfortable. No problem with the boot falling apart. If you take care of them (use a GOOD polish) they will be fine.

These boots are extremely poor quality. The rubber material used around the front of the boots cracks and tears easily. Customer service told me that this isn't a known issue. The reviews here tell otherwise (click on "rank by lowest rating" above) I've rated these boots as 5 stars so you see this review easily, they deserve 0 out of 5.

Purchased the boots when they first came out. Broke my ankle and wear boots everyday for work. The HRT's did not cut into my ankle were my plate and screws are. I buy a new pair every year due to the waterproofing tends to fail at the end of the yearly use. Match them with 5.11 socks, your feet will be in heaven!!!!!!! You can't find a better boot!!!!!!!!!
