I purchased two of these shirts, thinking they would be like all others I purchased for hot weather. They certainly are not! Being disabled and heat intolarant I needed a shirt like this one.
These shirts have more pockets that I can use at times. They have a massive place in the back that has a web interior that allows the air to circulate under your shirt. It drys quickly but wicks away your sweat too. Wind goes through the weave but not dust, like some lightweight fabrics. It keeps you cooler without the look of a beach front resort or t-shirt look.
Washing is a snap, throw it in, take it out after two spins and hang it on a hanger buttoning all buttons. It comes through wrinkle free. If wearing twice, the wrinkles come out after being on for just thirty minutes! No odor retension at all. If you must wear it longer, still no odor retension as long as you hang it to dry in good airflow.
It wears like iron and yet is soft like a shirt should be. Something to be said when most iron type shirts are heavy weight and wrinkle.
I would recommend this shirt to anyone. I'm buy a few more soon, myself.

This is a very good shirt. 5.11 polos are normally my first pick, but, only because this shirt of mine has no emblem on it, this is my first pick for an undercover/ low profile op. The hidden document pocket allows you to keep flags and other identifiers hidden from onlookers but still close at hand if you should really need them. I like the short sleeve because I operate in warm environments.

The 5.11 tac shirt is one of the most comfortable I've worn in hot weather, but even with the wicking, cotton is still cotton. The tac light has all the quality and comfort of the cotton, but in a lighter-weight fabric. For summer wear, it's an improvement on the original.

An unexpected plus was the finer threads used in the fabric. My embroiderer pronounced it wonderful to deal with, and had said she can put in more detail and use finer thread with this fabric.

This shirt always looks fresh and crisp. It has strong durability, feels good against my skin and I can carry my P99 comfortably in it.
I own alot of 511 pants and shirts because the quality is unbeatable, most times they feel custom molded to me. If GM made cars the way 511 makes cloths they would rule the industry.
