Having the right undershirt for a ballistic vest in colder weather is crucial for comfort and performance. The Winter Mock Undershirt fits that need with its unique design and features. It is made out of our moisture-wicking, anti-microbial and quick-drying fabric. Our saddle-shoulder construction offers greater range of motion and an underarm mesh panel allows moisture to vent and evaporate easily. The shirt has flat-lock seams to reduce friction and prevent chafing. The Winter Mock is designed to wear under body armor but is also great for casual and workout wear. The long sleeve Winter Mock is made of a heavy material that will insulate you against the cold. Made of 88% polyester and 12% spandex, the Winter Mock is designed to last. The loose fit and generous sizing make this a very comfortable and practical shirt. Affordable enough for everyday wear, the Winter Mock is designed to be worn under body armor providing warmth, comfort and protection throughout a long work shift. The durability of the Winter Mock makes this a great value for cold weather wear.

Comments about 5.11 Tactical Winter Mock - Long Sleeve:
As a first time purchaser from 511 direct i am very pleased withthe service, and quality of the products i have purchased so far, prior purchases of 511 products came from out local L/E store, but they have a limited selection unless you are a medium sized person. Clothing i have pirchased is true to size and finding 3x and 3xt is like an Easter egg hunt sometimes.

this is a great shirt

this is the finest shirt I love it so much I bought two white ones for off duty use. Roomy, comfortable, feels like it is made well. I use it for work on a daily basis, so far it has held up very well through repeated washings. I can honestly say that I cannot think of any negatives. I highly recommend this shirt for duty use

Great warmth and mobility
By LM4300

I was issued the Winter Mock as part of our ERT gear. The loose cut and material weight is perfect as a cold weather base layer. Even indoors with other layers over it (body armor, TDU shirt etc) the winter mock kept me comfortable without overheating.Even in highly mobile situations the shirt has stayed tucked in and allowed me full range of motion. The only improvement I would like to see is to have it a little tighter around the neck. Otherwise, a great comfortable piece of gear!
Service and delivery comments:
You have a wide range of clothes and gear, that is durable and practical. You have been innovative and seem to take suggestions and comments from end users seriously.

Very good bottom layer
By HamptonRds

An improvement over a cotton turtle neck and Underarmour shirts I had. I wear it under a uniform shirt and vest-it's very comfortable, keeps me warm and doesn't hold any sweat in. I agree with the previous reviews, the neck is loose, but the overall fit is very good and breathability is better than UA shirts I've had. I also think 5.11's emphasis on breathability, such as underarms, makes their shirts more comfortable than other tight fitting shirts. I had a department cotton turtle neck - this is light years better. It's comfortable enough I also wear on off time, underneath a button shirt, short or long sleeve. I've run in it in 20 degree weather, very comfortable and for that the loose neck is probably better.

Not as warm as expected

I got my winter mock just the day before I went to NE China during winter. The temperature there is around 3 degrees daytime and down to negatives at night. I compared this winter mock against my Korean made Kolon Sport underlayer, which has an extra ThermoLite layer. This winter mock feels obviously less warmth when wearing in combination with a fleece layer, shirts and my French Foreign Legion parka. The only advantage is the winter mock is very breathable, any sweat you got will dissipate very quickly.
