I'm a size 40" waist and usually XXL in anything fits. But these shorts in XXL are really big, even with the draw string. There is not much elasticity to the waist, you will need to use the drawstring. This makes an accurate fit more important.

I would say these XXL shorts are about a 42". You may use that as a size guide, at your own discretion.

5.11 - you guys make good stuff, size charts for stuff like this (and your shirts) would be very helpful to e-customers. That, and putting the dimensions for your pouches in the product descriptions. Oh yeah, how about a double mag pouch for 7.62 mags (M1A/M14) folks?
