I wish I could give these 5 stars but...
They are the most comfortable jeans I own and look great! The pockets are too shallow! I pocket carry sometimes and that is not happening with these jeans.I own many pairs of 5.11 pants and shorts this has never been an issue.PLEASE FIX THIS.i still love em and will buy more I just would love a perfect pair of jeans
These jeans are pretty good overall. A little pricey but when on sale I think they're worth it.
Seem durable so far
The pockets are too small. My phone sticks out of the top
The cuffs are pretty small, don't really go over shoes at all they just kinda bunch up over top so I would recommend a little shorter than you usually get.
They bleed. I've washed them three times and the blue is still rubbing off on things. Just be careful not too stain your couch
As everyone else has pointed out, the front pockets are TOO SMALL! I can't even fit the entirety of my hands in them. I always make fun of my wife's jeans because women's pockets are so small in the front, these feel like that. I have had these jeans since November and have been wearing them regularly, after 4 months of regular use and wash they STILL bleed! After wearing these pants my hands start to turn blue at the end of the day. I expected more for the price point. Overall the jeans are comfortable and fit well. I appreciate all the belt loops for a more secure carry. The rear pockets and the hidden pockets are sized well. I would buy another pair if the bleed and front pockets were better.
I used the pants for several months now and loved the concept for them. My only issue was they didn't fit due to both weight loss on my part and too big to begin with. I'm buying more of these pants for on and off duty carry.
I like the defender flex pants. I wish the front pockets were a little deeper and the bottoms were a little bigger. They feel real comfortable.
I bought a pair of these jeans and have been wearing them almost everyday for a few weeks now.
As others have stated, the front pockets are too shallow and the color does bleed when new.
I would like the front pockets to be a couple inches deeper, I carry my phone in my front left pocket, and sitting down causes the phone to jam up into my pelvic region. These front pockets are hard to get things in and out, even basic items like keys and chapstick.
I really hope 5.11 take this in consideration if they ever re-design these jeans. These are good jeans, and I will be buying more.
I ordered a pair of DEFENDER-FLEX STRAIGHT JEANs to try them out. I typically wear a 30wX32l in 5.11 pants so that is the size I opted for. The waist is a little larger than typical and the length seems shorter than typical, compared to other pants I have purchased from them. I'm thinking the waist would allow for IWB carry (I have always carried OWB) which I plan to start training for. I am disappointed in the length. (they seem more like a 30-30.5) I did purchase them to "try 'em out" so after experiencing how they fit and wear I now know to order a 30wX34l. The quality is great amd if I hadn't already worn the pair I have extensively I am confident 5.11 would have allowed them to be returned for an exchange for a longer size. That's why I gave them all 5 stars. They are durable and feel great when worn despite the size discrepancy. I will be ordering another pair in the appropriate size and I would also like a pair of the pants in the Stone color. I would definately suggest them to a friend.
Little pricey but you definitely get what you pay for....a good fitting comfy pair of jeans.
OK, right out of the chute I want to say I'm a "die hard" fan of 5.11. I can back that up because I have 4 pair of Apex pants, 3 pair of Tactical pants, 2 pair of the Ridgeline, and 2 pair of the Covert Khakis. I also own 4 pair of shorts and 3 of their shirts.
Anyway, I was in the market for a pair of tactical jeans, so I thought I'd give the Flex Defenders a shot since I was satisfied with most all my other purchases. Unfortunately, that didn't end up being the case.
The reason being is I do pocket carry and my EDC weapon is a S&W 9mm Shield which as most of you know has a pretty small profile, but even so the back of the grip stuck better than an inch above the opening of the pocket, so zero concealability!
Anyway, I had to return them (my first pair of pants) as that was a deal breaker, so all that to say don't buy the Flex Defender if you do pocket carry!
I've worn Wranglers most of my life, but am now switching! These jeans are so flippin' comfortable - like wearing your PJ's. The mad pockets ate great for my cell phone - when I sit down the phone rides higher and that means no "butt dimples". Have not had any issues with color bleeding at all.
