Just go my pair in. I was worried aboiut the fit but it is perfect. I ordered the same size as my usual jean size and it's perfect. For information, I am a 6'4" guy, 182 pounds and I ordered 34x34.
The look of the jean's is really nice, I got congratulations from my wife so it's really up to par with "regular" jean's.
Apart from the nice extended little pocket, the big plus is the two new backpockets. They are perfect for my cellphone which I usually do not like having in a backpocket as when I sit down I crush it. But since the new pockets are off centered, I can sit without having the impression if crushing my phone.
Qualitywise the jeans seems up to par with several areas where there is more stitching than my regular jeans. SO this should face the test of time but this will have to be confirmed of course.
The only thing that looks a little underwhelming is the zipper but that'st just a personnal opinion.
All in all very happy, finally a new take on the classic jean's. I am buying some more!
Great idea for casual jeans. Only wish they had more sizes especially if carrying back up weapons.
best jeans I've ever owned. Not too "elasticky". moves with you and no grabbing or binding. Just ordered another pair. Please consider offering the same sizing (not JUST slim) options in the "pants" variety - PLEASE
Quality of materials used is decent. The jean material feels exactly like wrangler flex fit pants. Pocket material is thin, I worry about longevity and holes forming. Pocket positioning is awesome. Rear pocket and yoke pockets are handy as usual. Front pockets SUCK. Way to shallow for a modern cell phone. My Pixel XL sticks out of the front pocket by about an inch. Given these are supposed to be tactical I find the depth of the front pockets unacceptable.
Fit is ok, if you have muscular thighs and calves these are going to be a snug fit. Not really a problem. I tried wearing these during a work out and was able to hit below parallel on squats. They flex amazingly well and feel sturdy. Consistency from one pair to the other is poor. I noticed on one pair I can barely get the leg over my boot. I laid one pair on top of the other. Leg width on one is 2" shorter than the other. This is PRIOR to any washing.
Long story short this is a decent first attempt. I HOPE they do a version 2 with 2-3" deeper front pockets, better pocket material, and up the QC.
I love these jeans. I waited a long time for them to come in stock and now that I know I love them, I wanted another pair but they are out of stock again. I guess they are popular, but I wish they would get enough made to satisfy the demand. Anyway, great fit, right on the size they say they are, nice stretch, great pockets, large belt loops, great waist shape, nice weight (not too thin, not too thick). My only gripe is the crazy pattern/design. I guess just getting jeans without these crazy patterns in them is a thing of the past and dates me a bit. Crazy stripes in the front. See the design, how they are really dark below the knee in the front and below the ass in the back? That is indeed exactly how they come--that dramatic. They will supposedly fade a bit as they get washed a number of times. I hope that tones the crazy pattern down. But, that said, these really do solve the problems of regular jeans that someone might want to wear in more tactical situations or even every day. I love them! My new go to pants!
Wore these pants to work the other day. They felt very flexible and not heavy like normal jeans. Very comfortable fit. Couple of down sides. They seem to run longer on the length than what you orderd. I am a 36 in length and they were defenetly longer. They also seem to run off the color of the pants. The instructions on the label do warn about this. So watch what you wash them with. Not a deal breaker for me. Will buy more as they add different colors.
I was extremely happy to score these jeans during 5.11 days last week. Unfortunately, quality control missed the ones that I received. All my 5.11 pants are 36x32 and fit perfectly. Theses jeans though in 36x32 are at least 2 inches longer than all my other work/off duty 5.11 pants. Very disappointed and will be sending them back!!!
Ordered two pair of these assuming gett 'em while I can. Fit is just right. Back pockets are big enough to hold a GS6 in an OtterBox Defender series case - and comfortably so. Ancillary magazine pockets may never be used but one should never say never. Wear - we'll see how these hold up over time. The denim isn't as hefty as a Levis or other like type of material, but what may be sacrificed in heft is more than made up for in comfort, man, are these jeans comfortable! If you're sold on the fit/feel of let's say...the Stryke (my daily go-to wear) then you won't find yourself disappointed with this new Defender-Flex pant.
Cant wait to get a couple pairs of these pants! Im a pretty tall guy so its hard to find stuff that fits me right but I have never had a problem with any of 5.11's gear. I still have the same pair of Stryke Pants from almost 7 years ago. Bombproof stuff!
