Ive been wearing these in Afghanistan for the past 13 months they're very comfortable but around month 6 the sole started to separate from the boot and now its completely fallen off. Great for just a comfortable boot to wear around but not for hard work and rough terrain.
Just received my new Evo and the first thing I noticed was how nice these boots look, they are just what I was looking for in style and appear to be built solid as well. Second, the fit was just right, I have a wide foot so I ordered 11.5 W and it was perfect, Third, these are very comfortable , not too stiff as some leathers can be. Fourth, the sole appears to be well designed and built, a thick sole to absorb shock and tread made to be slip resistant. Fifth, the zipper seems well designed and blends nicely with the leather color and did not get stuck in the fabric when zipping up, as some zippers do. Sixth, I am in South Florida , which your feet can sweat rather easily, and I have had them on with a light sock for awhile and they seem to be dry and comfortable; thus, the boot must be breathable. In summation, this boot is all that it describes and worth the money, which I believe to be a fair price. Thus, I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for a boot that is superbly built, has resounding comfortability, are ruggedly stylish and are modestly affordable.
I bought the 8" waterproof CST for duty and decided to buy these for off duty. Comfortable, durable, looks good. The only thing is that these should have been waterproof too. Hopefully version two will be.
I own serval 5.11 boots. While I like all of them, the EVO 6" CST BOOT is the most comfortable. Been using for about 6 months with zero challenges. Comfortable, good traction, does well even in warm weather. No problems with the zipper. The insoles are great. Note: People with a fat ankle may have some issues even in the wide width. I will buy a couple more sets.
