I wear these on 12-14 hour shifts and they're incredibly comfortable. My feet are on the more narrow side so the standard lacing wasn't working so great but I relaced them with ladder lacing and they fit very snug and solid now. I like the ankle support and the fact that they're waterproof. I've rolled stretchers into these, dropped bags on them, kicked things while working, and the foot protection is great. Obviously they're a bit warm but that's something I'm willing to sacrifice to protect my feet.
These babies went on like a snug glove! Comfortable out of the box and that's hard to find for me. Really dig the knive pocket too. Will update in a few months for wear.
These are not my favorite pair of duty boots so far. I have had the boots for several months and the stitching around the top of the boot has begun to break free. I feel they did the velcro backwards, and should have reversed it. The velcro always sticks to your sock when putting on the boot. I have worn these boots in the pouring rain while tracking for about 3 hours, the boots remained fairly dry on the insides.
One of my biggest complaint about the boot is the sole. The foot sign left by this boot is hard to tell you are looking at a boot imprint. When tracking individuals often times my boot sign is mistaken for regular shoe prints due to the squiggle lines.
Good fit, good feel and almost no break in period needed.
I bought these 6 or 8 months ago and after the initial break in period, I have to say I love the comfort and utility of these boots. However one of the main reasons I chose this particular boot, out of many that I researched, is the fact that 511 advertises a cemented and stitched sole. Mine ARE NOT stitched. This is very disappointing. My boots always end up separating from the sole around the pivot point at my toes, after about a year to a year and a half. The evo has not yet done this but are beginning to show minor separation from the sole. I should have called immediately upon receipt but i did not and that's my fault. other wise i love the boot. If 511 would replace my boots with what is advertised I would be a customer for life (at least regarding repurchases of this boot, and potentially other gear as well) but I seriously doubt any company would do that after 6 or 8 months. 2 stars for false advertising. 6 stars if I actually got what I thought I was paying for.
Just got these in and love them. A little snug at the ankle and above in the beginning, but broke in and comfortable by the end of the day. I have a regular width and it was snug at the foot without discomfort. Fit was true to size. Nice job.
