Need it for my watch, can't wait!
Great item, just sad cause this wrist band easy damage.
I own 2 of these watches and I dont have any complaints about the watch itself just the straps. I have now gone through 2 straps on both watches this is a serious flaw in this watch. My watches have been around the world and handle the tough treatment, the male strap is the main problem. I am now ordering 2 more straps but maybe that was 511's intent in the first place.
I purchased a 5.11 Field Ops (ver 1) Tactical Watch shortly before deploying to Afghanistan. I like the watch but had issues with the durability of the band. It was not suited for 24/7 field operations in the environment I was posted to. Within 3 months the band broke in several places. I used black duct tape and paper clips to keep it functional until I could order a replacement watch band (which I believe needs to come standard with every watch purchase). When I returned home, I ordered a replacement band. My chief complaint is the outrageous shipping price ($7.95) for an item that weighed a few ounces. When I contacted Customer Service, the rep indicated I could have chosen the Air Delivery option at a cost of $25 (120% the item cost). Despite the costly shipping fee, it took 8 days for the item to reach me, and when it did it arrive I found it incomplete. The 3-strap band only comes with one retaining pin. This product packaging defies logic. Apparently, you need to order two watch band sets (6 straps total) in order to receive the necessary two retaining pins to affix one set of straps to the watch. I again used a paper clip to secure the band and promised to forgo 5.11 in the future.
I use my Field Ops watch everyday. I get a lot of compliments on the watch and everything it does specially from my civilian friends. I have bought 5 repleacement bands just for the male end so far and yes I have to buy another watch band. If there was anyway to just get the male part of the watch band so I could change it out it would be great. I still have the original box with the female end to replace but I have not had to change it in the past 5 years so far. This is not fair to a loyal customer. I am a Cavalry Scout by MOS and I need my equpment to last and not give out when I really need it to accomplish my missions. Please come up with a solution not another band set that I will not be using 50% of. I or my wife have paid $100 not to mention the shipping and handling for the ones we had to order online I have bought some at Ranger Joe's. Add another $19.99 for another watch band. I have had to throw away the female parts I got with the repair kits I have bought. In my opinion it is a waste of my money and your product when you can easily change your maker to make the ends and let us choose what we need. Even better make a band that lasts. Very great watch when not hanging from my belt loop with a broken band. "Scouts Out"
My son was happy to get his replacement band.
My 5.11 Sureshot Tactical Watch wrist band broke after 8 months of continued use. I treated it as well as I could and even took it off before each shower. Still, the wrist band broke right where it connects with the actual watch. The band appears to be made from 2 different types of plastic/rubber. If it is going to be that weak, 5.11 should send more than one band when you order a watch.
I love my watch but am not happy that the band did not even last me one year before both sides broke. Putting it back in its box just made it worse as the watch no longer fit into it properly once the band had hardened to the shape of my wrist.
I bought the watch in 2009. The retainer for keeping the excess from flapping has always been a pain and recently it broke. The band is ripping at one of the ribbed indentations. Better keep an eye on the retention bar...I lost one side of that. I have no choice but to order a replacement. Other than the band the watch is good to go...buy a replacement band right away!
I have had this watch for over 4 years now, and I love it for the most part. I wear it every day and I certainly put it to the test. I love the watch, look and function, but this will be my 4th strap in as many years!!! Come on 5.11. If we can get to the moon, we can make a watch strap that holds up to a little abuse. I am going to order the 4th replacement strap, but this will be the last if there is no improvements. I have given this watch to several friends as gifts and that will stop too until the problems are fixed. Sorry.
