this was purchsed for me as sa gift. I tried a competitors shirt, looked great, but a Glock printed like I had a basketball on my side. This shirt fits great, no sign of a G19. Looks good, feels great.
Ideal weight for tropical heat, comfortable in the car and outside in the heat. A good all-round article of apparel. I'm buying two or three if I can get the colors I want. Only suggestion: how about a concealed vertical zippered pocket on the side seam, or a really subtle napoleon-style pocket behind the front pocket. Keep the pockets subtle
I've been very happy with 5.11 sizing it has been very consistent across different styles of shirts and pants... except the freedom flex woven short sleeve shirt... it runs smaller than their average 2XL. All the various 2XL shirts I have ever bought have fitted me well, with enough room for CCW. I currently use the 5.11 holster t-shirts which I love and bought 2 of these shirts because of the snap closures and breathability aspect... Since 2XL is their largest size, wearing the holster t shirt causes me to print and though they claim added length for IWB carry there isn't... so they are useless for CCW carry. Otherwise they fit fine as an ordinary REI style warm/hot climate shirt... but that is not why I spend tons of money buying 5.11, I wan't functional wear for the environment I'm working in and the ability to "not print" while doing CCW. Very dissapointed.
I ordered these shirts a few weeks back while I was on vacation I just came home and checked out my shirts and I'm pretty darn amazed they are very good looking shirts I ordered the Black&Storm just need to order the Battle Brown. If anybody is considering ordered the Freedom Flex shirt I highly recommend it you won't be disappointed.
I travel to asia for work and for leisure and this shirt is great for the hot/muggy climate. Fit is comfortable and shirt snaps are great. Shirt remains cool and does not stick to your skin. I purchase my shirts in 2XL to wear with undershirt and felt great especially during extended trips. worth the price and good color selection, please add more!
I use this shirt primarily as a casual everyday shirt, it's very comfortable and is lightweight and allows for wide ranges of movement, great styling and is the perfect shirt for any range-goer or anyone wanting a stylish tactical shirt.
Great product for warm weather climate with the shirt's light/thin breathable material.
However, you should know, for me, 1. The collar is too small (width wise) and, 2. (most importantly) I can't carry my pistol concealed. I buy shirts one size larger to conceal off-duty with an inside the waistband type holster and extra mag pouch. A smaller pants pocket 380/9mm pistol would be okay. I carry what I train with (45 cal) and it definitely shows the pistol butt protrusion.
I bought several of these shirts to wear with the Stryke pants from 5.11. I typically wear shirts un-tucked for various reasons and this shirt is a perfect fit in every aspect. It's very roomy, fits well, and will be a perfect short sleeve shirt for Spring/Summer/Fall when the weather is mild to hot. I love the snaps instead of buttons!
The only thing I love more than getting brand new 5.11 gear, is getting 5.11 gear that my actually tells me I need MORE of. She says I look amazing in this shirt, and that I should buy one for every day of the week (WHAT?). So I'll most likely be at least getting 2 more in the underbrush color and black.
YES, it's pricey, and YES it's worth it. Take this shirt into ANY local retailer and compare it for yourself. The construction, materials, quality, etc etc etc, make it entirely worth it. Some people might like paying $10 to $20 on a cheap shirt each year as the last one falls apart. Personally I'd rather spend 50+ on a shirt that I know will last most of my lifetime, that I'm proud to wear (and if my wife approves, all the better).
Highly recommend this shirt.
