first off- the author, kyle lamb is a true american hero. its kind of cool that he autographed this book.
that being said, the nuts and bolts of this book are how to run a rifle in duty conditions- from accessories, to cleaning- drills and dry fire practice to running and gunning in real world situations.
its easy to read, and if you are a gun nut like me, quite entertaining. kyle wrote this book while in his rack, between operations while on combat deployment, and you can tell that he is very passionate about it.
if you are looking for entertainment, to watch with a bowl of popcorn, and a beer- the magpul guys are great movie stars, and i dont dispute their real world experience- but the movies are just that- movies. too much emphysis placed on show, and soundtrack.
this book on the other hand, is a training tool, with no extra BS.
i highly recomend it for anyone that carries a rifle in the real world.
i used it for developing a patrol rifle training program, and for keeping myself sharp- and i find that no matter how many times i read it, i learn something new each time.
