I am a surgeon and avid outdoorsman. I have a tendency to take gear for every situation. I like that this small pouch holds my bandages, creams, quick clot, venom kit, AND trauma shears. It stretches well, and the zipper holds fantastically under the stress of being full.
I agree that the upside-down pockets lead to problems with smaller projects like alcohol swabs and bandaids falling out. I would think that inverting them would cause a bigger problem with the contents all spilling out. I'd like to see the pockets inverted, but fabric/cord attached to the bottom corners to keep the pouch open 45-90 degrees, similar to cables on a draw-bridge.
I cannot speak to color inconsistencies with other gear. It matches my ignitor pack perfectly. I would assume the fabric alters the way it takes the dye.
This is a great pouch holder for an outer vest molle system. It holds everything you would need for a first responded kit. Nothing is held upside down as previous comments states.
I looked for weeks to find a well designed pouch with enough space for all the supplies in my custom medical kit that I sell through my business. The Ignitor Med Pouch has met and exceeded all of my expectations. I train based on the MARCH system. This pouch allows for CAT TQ and Ripshear Mini to be in front pouch for Care under Fire, then inside I can have Celox in slot for continuation of M and also allowing for replacement on expiration without having to replace entire kit. Finally, the remainder of supplies to finish out ARCH are vacuum sealed and contained in the main compartment. There are even extra pockets for personal customization. The Red Pull strap to open the pouch is an added bonus and the subtle medical cross enhance the design. The Molle set up with the 5.11 SlickStick system is very easy to use with Molle on vests and bags and also can be effectively set up for use on a belt. The pockets are not incorrectly aligned. They are meant to be right side up when the pouch is open so that the contents do not fall out.
The sandstone isn't remotely the same shade as every other sandstone product 511 puts out. The pouch is fine, but it stands out on any other sandstone bag.
This Ignitor Med Pouch be a great product but the pockets are up side down, everything falls out when it is zipped up
