I went with the LBE holster in conjunction with the small COVRT Insert for Sig Sauer MK25 trying the TacTec holster pouch in my COVRT 18 backpack. The TacTec holster pouch fit the MK25 but snagged on rail and front site. The LBE holster is full length and does not suffer from the afore mentioned problem. It allows the use of a light on a full size firearm without any problems. The slick stick system is much more secure than the TacTec hook & loop. The LBE holster works great in this setup as backup holster when I cannot carry on body. That said, I would not use it as a primary holster. The LBE holster is designed for vertical carry and the retention snap provides very little security. A nylon snap would provide nearly the same retention but do a better job of protecting the finish of your handgun.
Have a CZ SP-01 with a Crimson Trace RailMaster laser sight. It's a large frame pistol that has been hard to fit, especially with the laser addition, but this one works like a charm: adjustable, well made, secure. Works for belt or pack carry. As other reviewers have said, it's probably too small for a rail mounted light. I have experienced zero problems with the snap closures mentioned by others. This is a good holster for large frame pistols with low profile, rail mounted laser sights.
Great Holster! I use it for my P229 with XC1 light. No issues on the fit and design work well for a quick response. Definitely not an everyday carry.
I purchased this holster to use on a 5.11 thigh rig and hold my HK USP .45 (a common service pistol) with a Streamlight TLR-3 mounted on it, since the product description states that this holster is designed to hold pistols with tactical lights mounted to them. Well, it doesn't fit, not even close, and that's after loosening every Velcro strap all the way off. If it had been designed for a Glock, then 5.11 should have mentioned that. To top it off, the inside of the plastic retention insert at the bottom 1/3 of the holster took the finish off of my new $90 streamlight. I'm not happy, if I return the holster, then I might as well return the entire rig and start over. If I take the light off of my pistol, then what's the point of having this holster? I expected more from 5.11 Tactical.
This holster does not fit a G17 or G19 with a Streamlight, either the TLR-1 or TLR-3. The gun itself fits fine and retention appears adequate. I put it on a vest as a backup to the shotgun for home defense. It is not a fast draw holster. As someone else said, it is difficult to get quick release and a good grip, but I feel it is adequate for its intended purpose.
having used this product for 2 year, its flexibility and modularity is quite handy. it is obviously limited to full sized pistols, but with a bit of ingenuity, extra cordura and velcro, i've managed to use it with 4 and 6 inch revolvers.
not the fastest holsters out there but it is quite secure. having used it in a variety of carry methods like hip, drop leg and crossdraw on a chest rig, it holds my secondaries true.
not the thing you want if its a primary duty holster but as a back up,range, casual cary or huntng its good. i use it in a cross draw on a tact vest for call outs when doing et or other related work. dont know what problems others are having but you need to work with it and it will hold any glock w/or w/o light. just bend the bottom and flex the material it will work. holds my g22 or 35 with no problems.
It attaches to molle really well. My hipoint is a little wide for this holster, but a 1911 goes in very well.
The good thing about this holster is it will probably fit most pistols... but it won't fit most pistols very well. I bought this for a second holster for my duty weapon (G21SF W/ TLR-1) for when I want to take the pistol somewhere and am not taking my duty belt. The pistol does fit and the holster can also be made to fit my other pistols (G32, 1911.
This holster protects the pistol but that's about it. If you need a holster where you will have to draw with any sort of speed or need some security retention for the pistol this is not the holster for you. The snap is basically worthless for any sort of retention, because it unsnaps to easily, but luckily the holster is tight enough to keep the pistol in there. You are also unable to get a solid master grip with this holster because of how it is cut.
Glad I got this holster on clearance. It will work for the minimum of what I intended it to but nothing more.
I gave 2 stars because I would expect something more practical from 5.11 and VTAC. The holster seems to be well built like 5.11 and VTACs other products.
I purchased this because of a review that I read, That being said the review stated that it fits a laser and light, it does not
