I concur with WRANGLER COP. Moisture control is key and I have and found this sock traps moisture. It is more wet on the inside than the outside of the sock. By the end of the day, the funk goes rancid and no joke, it stinks horribly. I don't have this problem with other socks this quickly. It's not even summer yet. This is just from sitting at my office where it's nice and cool. In fact. I've got them off now blowing in front of fan to dry them so i can put back on in an attempt to keep my feet breathing before the funk comes! Plus i haven't quite figured why 9" goes goes up past my knees. I'm only 5'5" but i would think i would 9" sock means 1" past an 8" boot perhaps. Definitely, go with the 6" socks if don't want knee high.
Security and Army National Guard. I spend a lot of hours on my feet. I've worn these socks for two years. Finally replacing them. OTC with arch support is definitely the way to go. Great Socks!! I'm gonna try the new 5.11 OTC socks with reinforced heels.
I've bought 3 pairs of these socks and I loved them. Until about 3 months in to owning them the all got holes in the toes. I sewed those shut and kept using them but after another month or so the heels began to fail. They are nothing more than netting now. Sad coming from 5.11 I expected a bit better durability the the no name cool max socks or the standard issue army socks. On the bright side the do wick well your feet will stay dry they are warm enough for spring and cool enough from summer. I will probably buy another pair to see if I just got a pair of Lemons.
Being in a pair of boots for 8-10hrs a day for a week tends to take a toll on your feet. I was hoping that these would do the trick to help me out and make my feet more comfortable.
Not the case. They made my feet sweat so bad during my shift that when I took them off I could clear a room with how bad my feet smelled. You know it's bad when you cant take it. I thought it might just be my boots as I am coming on a year with them but that was not the case. I tried everything under the sun to help with the smell in my boots.
The only thing so far that I have found was to stop wearing these shocks.
Do not dry the socks - it will damage the material as with all good wicking material, but I have never seen this manifested with socks, which are this thick
Everyday sock of choice why wear anything else?
Bought for my son, a soldier in the IDF. He is very happy with it.
I have tried the 5.11 socks in black for duty use. I also use the white ankle compression socks for running. They are all excellent.
Very comfortable socks
Only socks I wear and now I have some brown ones
