So far I love these boots. I was looking for a boot that didn't feel like a cinder block on my foot. Light, comfortable, and good looking. I only have a couple of criticisms. 1. The laces are kinda crappy. They are very flimsy and when you unzip the boot, the laces shift making it almost impossible to get them back on without untying them. I replaced the laces with 550 cord and problem solved, the stiffer cord stays in place better. 2. The loop on the back is too small to put my finger through to pull the boot on, and I have medium hands. 3. The Velcro tab that covers the zipper needs to be bigger or even have a more secure means of fastening. All in all these are great boots and I would not let the small gripes deter you from ordering them. I ordered a half size up from my Nike Air Max's and they fit perfect.
I am a LEO and I wore these boots for a year working 10 hour shifts.
The good: They are very light and reasonably comfortable. Decent ankle support for a minimalist boot. The leather is good quality, it takes a shine very well and has held up great. The stitching is all great and I have had no stitches come lose or fray. The boot looks great. Even though the tread design seems shallow and the sole seems thin, it has held up just fine over the past year.
The bad: the Velcro tab that goes over the zipper is too short and doesn't secure properly after time. The other side of the Velcro on the upper can catch the seams of uniform dress pants. A few of the eyelets for the laces on the toe section have come apart on the under side.
Unfortunately, I cant say I would buy another pair of these boots. The velcro and eyelet problems are a huge annoyance to me and detract from the quality of the rest of the boot. I have worn other minimalist boots in this price range that were just as comfortable, lasted just as long, and didn't have any manufacturing shortcomings.
Zipper is plastic and failed on the 3rd day of use. Also, the cuff is not adjustable, so one must have a thin shin to get the boot closed properly.
