I owned this boots for 1.5 years, love them beautiful and after a week of constant use finally break the in. only issue is the zipper not strong enough to hold all the action that was put true in law enforcement. I try to replace the zipper but its a especial one that can't just be replace. Usually boots last me only about a year so i can't complain.
These boots have been good to me. I've got about 1.5 years out of them. Durable tough lightweight. Only thing is is both insides of the heels are completely gone and I have no support, they have sucked my heels back into the boot and my feet have been hurting for months now. Other then that I'm a C\O and I would recommend them for being on your feet.
Unfortunately, I am not happy with theese boots because:
1) The zipper is useless for me. As soon as I tie the laces as tight as I feel cofmortable with, my foot can't fit into the boot without a lot of effort.
2) As previous reviewers metnioned, those are narrow. I add that they are also low (had to remove insole to not have exceptional pressureon big finger's base
3) While items above might to some extent be personal thing, this one is 100% the issue: the sole starts to separate right in the middle of the heel on both boots after a month of pretty causal use. And by causal I mean mostly general work commute and some weekend walks in the park, i.e. nothing compared to what those boots are advertised to survive.
It is worth to mention that here those boots are listed as
SKYWEIGHT WATERPROOF SIDE ZIP BOOT
but the pair I have are
SKYWEGHT PATROL WP
Will go to local retailer to check if the "Premium 5.11 dealer" means something.
Given that I had durability issue with 2 previous 5.11 boots (namely Recon Desert and Speed 2.0), I cannot put more than 2 stars.
5.11, you make great pants, but footwear is certanly not a strong side.
I work for a fire department and a ambulance service. Bought these boots for the blood borne resistance, waterproof, and side zip. Within a few weeks of owning them the side zip membrane has suffered multiple rips. And after about 7 months of use the heel has worn out to the point where it hurts my heels when I wear them if I don't pad them. For $150 I would expect better durability out of my boots. I work part time in fire and ems, so these boots do not see the abuse a full-time person would give them. I am disappointed in them. They are extremely comfortable and great boot.s just not durable
Best boots I've ever owned. More comfortable than most sneakers I've ever worn.
Sending Back for bigger size otherwise seem good. I'm an 8.5 W in Army Issued HW boots.I ordered a 9W in these and that was a mistake. The toe area is so tight my toes are numb. Consider when you order may need a bigger size.
I just received my boots the other day. So far I have been happy with them. The seem really tough and i already tested how waterproof they are by walking in snow and puddles. My feet never saw a drip of water. they are very light weight and the ankle has a good amount of flex so you are not limited to movement when running or walking. The only Con's are the size, I would recommend getting one size bigger they just seem a little on the tight side. The last thing is the zipper and top of the boot. It seems a little small of the size of my calf. I would consider my calf size to be about average and its just a bit tighter then i would like.
Over all i would definitely recommend this boot to my fellow LEO.
