Great boot

From Bryan

I've owned two pairs of these boots over the past three years and they are awesome. So comfortable and durable.

Good Enough

From Knuckle Drag

Ive used Army issued boots, these and Merrils while Defense Contracting, and currently wear these for Security Operations. My initial thoughts on these boots were very uncomfortable as I first wore these particular pairs in the cold. The folding/bending of material at the top of the foot were digging into my foot causing discomfort. I left them aside for a number of months until it got warmer in July and they seemed to wear just fine. I've had several other 5.11 boots and they all felt very nice in the beginning with no break-in needed. This one was an exception for some reason but feels good now. As of July 2014, it has kept its integrity, soles, and the shoestrings are nice as I dont have to doubleknot them. I never used the zippers everyday, but it helps replacing insoles. I wish these ones had the hidden pocket for a 5.11 knife as the ATAC does. but for my work, it does fine and gets me through the day of foot patrols in 12 hour shifts.

Quality control is awful

From 5.11 tuxedo

from Sacramento, CA

The first pair I bought was a true to fit boot in REGULAR width. The left boot was extremely comfortable, but the right boot had a rather large flared out inner thread that caused a great amount of discomfort on my inner foot.

I only wore boots twice and had them exchanged for another pair, hoping I could get both boots feeling as comfortable as the left boot.

After receiving my order, ive come to notice the 2nd pair did not fit like the first pair at all!!... The boots fit like the WIDE, not REGULAR width boots, even though they are labeled as REGULAR. It doesnt matter how tight I tie my laces the boots still feel too loose..

The 2nd pair also FEEL cheaper in quality strange to say... I dont know if its just my luck but the QUALITY CONTROL on these boots are terrible!!

I will try one last exchange then im done. I will move on to another brand.

Comfortable boots

From Seabee

from Midland, Mi.

Price and delivery was great.

Didn't even take 5 steps...

From Peter L.

from Tampa, Fl.

I didn't realize the boots were made in China, If I had known I wouldn't have ordered them. Live and learn, the lace eyelet broke before I GOT OUT THE DOOR THE FIRST TIME I PUT THEM ON.

Superior footwear

Horrible Sole - Falls Apart

From PJ McCabe

from Arizona

Have used 5.11 boots since out of the academy in 2005 and never had an issue. My boots usually lasted about 18 months per pair before the soles would start wearing too thin. Decided to 'splurge' on this pair and am sorely disappointed. Sole on my left foot is already worn through (hole into insole) after six months of wear (purchased in April). When the sole wears before the shoe laces break, something isn't right...

Comfortable with poor zipper design.

From Tim

from Michigan

I bought this boot because I have been wearing the Haste and although I like that boot and still have a pair, I wanted to try something lighter. I wanted it to wear like a shoe but with the support of a boot. I love the side zipper in the Haste because it is easy on/easy off. I had a pair of 8 inch high boots (another brand) in the past and they were super heavy and took forever to put on. Well the zipper is a waste. While I can take them off easy, I still have to loosen laces a little to get off and a lot to put on.
Like the boot just wished the zipper went farther down so it could function as intended. Poor design.
