I brought this from GT Distributors and have used this as a medical platform. Its been through several special events like Tough Mudder and its held its own very easily. I have combined it with the 6.6 Med Pouch and the Tactical Disposable Glove pouch along with folding scissors from a well known knife utility compaby to bring an ultimate tactical medical platform. The back mesh pouch area holds extra gloves in a zippered bag and a CPR mask. Im a pretty big dude and I have had no problem with adjusting it to my leg so the strap issue around the leg must have been resolved. Hope you all enjoy this product as much as I have.
This is a really well built rig, I especially like the added drop pouch in the back. Also it is very easy to change around your setup especially with the slickstick system. My only real con is that the thigh straps are a little too small for my leg, I have a pretty big leg & with the straps extended all the way out still did not fit. I had to make my own straps other than that though an excellent product
I've been using this for my mags for airsoft, and for a medkit on Search and Rescue ops. it's a nice platform, very durable and still lightweight. the problem is it is NOT one-size-fits-all. I'm a pretty average guy; 5'10" and 180#. the belt hanger is too long. Even when it is shortened all the way, the lower leg strap is around my knee. eventually folded the bottom 3" of the platform under and stitched it in place. also, the leg straps are rather short, I had to add some extra material.
I'm 6', 250LBS, and am an avid weight lifter. The leg straps on this rig are just not big enough to fit my quad. I would like to see the leg straps modified to have more elasticity, and not be so rigid. The buckles just have a very cheap feel to them. I'm a little bit rough on my equipment, and I can see one of these plastic buckles cracking on me. I really like the holster that goes with the unit (sold separately). It will fit most duty weapons. I like the fact that I can also put a MOLLE cuff case on the rig (which is not 5.11 brand). It would be nice if 5.11 offered a MOLLE baton holder, if they do, I cannot find it. I give this 4 out of 5 stars because there are certain modifications that I think needs to be done to the leg straps and fastex buckles.
I am a Sgt in a detention unit and I wear this everyday . Its rugged and can be configured anyway I need it. I have the one for work and another I use when on Chase. I have had both for over a year now and they make my day a lot easier because it allows me to carry the gear I need without having to over crowd my belt.
TAKE THIS ON A HIKE AND YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW ITS THERE! WATER IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ITEM TO TAKE. A NALGEN BOTTLE AND STAINLESS ROUND CUP FIT INSIDE OF H2O CARRIER,VERY COMFOTABLE TO HIKE WITH. DON'T NEED A BACK PACK FOR SHORT HIKES.
Got this thigh rig to go along with the "Push Pack" to complete an Active Shooter "Go" rig. I put 2 doouble mag pouches on it and hoped to be able to fit 2 6x6 pouches on it, the second one misses fitting by one molle attatchment slot. Wish that the rig would be just a little wider to be able to fit both of the 6x6 pouches.
I mounted the bungee style double magazine pouch, the stacked single pouch and a 12 shell shotgun pouch. I still have some room left. I leave the top buckle portion attached to my duty belt so that I can quickly attach it if the situation requires it.
I mounted a dual rifle mag pouch and a pistol mag pouch, they all fit nicely. This rig fits well and all the adjustments make it easy to customize to your body shape. With all the pouches available this is a very versatile little rig.
