I wanted something that wasn't as big as a 3 1'2 inch to 5 inch blade and not so small that it was unusable. This was the perfect choice. The blade is just under 3 inches and wide enough to hand almost anything you could need it for. The handle color is awesome. It's tough subdued color will last for a long time to come. The pocket clip is great. It's not deep carry but not much of the knife hangs out either. Also the end of the clip sits off of the knife making it easy to put into your pocket or wherever you put it. It has a slim design and is really light. I honestly don't even realize I have it on me. The handles are not super grippy but they're not slippery either. Over all a great knife if you're looking for something "in between" for size. The blade wasn't super sharp when I got it so I had to touch that up but that may be more of a preference thing. Also while not a deal breaker, a deep carry pocket clip would be nice.
This knife has a cool design, deploys easily, has a good, strong metal clip but is not that sharp. I am disappointed with how dull it seems to be even brand new. However, its size and weight make it easy to carry around. Acceptable for under $30.
Great knife I have two of them I carry it everyday not too big or to small
This knife is way better than I expected. I have had this for over 1 year. It is so good, that I'm also going to purchase the other model that has a green body.
small and exquisite
is an honest market for its value.
is very practical and light also quite sharp and durable for everyday tasks. I'm Detective and I always carry my service .. I would prefer a different handle to be offered for self-defense.
I bought one of these knives several months ago. It is a great light weight, fast deploying, utility knife. I mainly use it for off duty carry and administrative chores. However as an edged defense weapon it would shine as well. I particularly like how the blade has an indent adjacent to the frame for your index finger to ride. This promotes blade control but also prevents you fingers from getting lacerated if the liner lock either fails or is disengaged while you are engaged(I've not had this happen, just an observation). I gave this knife top marks for what it is, a great light weight, sharp, every day carry knife. I didn't rate it for durability as I have only owned it for 5 months.
This is an easy to carry EDC for me. Although I have big hands, the grips fit me nicely and do not hang up in pockets. I prefer G10, but for the price, I feel these are a bargain. The blade steel is good and the sharpness is fantastic! An easy to use knife, right out of the box! I also own one of the CUB MASTER knives from this company - tough and wicked little karambit!
I use this knife at the Fire Department each duty day. I also carry it in daily use much of the time. This medium sized knife is very sharp and easy to handle. It has a good feel and is everything that I expected, quality wise, with having the name brand of 511.
I am constantly looking for a daily carry knife that isn't too beefy, nor too slight. This really seems to fit the bill. I am not in LE, but carry a knife daily in a business environment.
The clip is excellent. Good retention, but also easy to take on and off. Although it was already set up how I wanted it, i thought it was a nice touch to include the torx wrench to switch the clip to the other side.
Handle was mentioned as a "con" only for those who prefer a G-10 type handle. The molded plastic isn't particularly "grippy," which is perfect for my use in that it doesn't hang up on your pocket. But some may not like that feature.
Overall i am very happy with the fact that there are really no sharp edges (other than the blade of course) or any areas to get snagged on clothes or tear up your hands on this knife. Getting it in and out of your pocket, and opening and closing the blade are easy.
All things equal, this is a great knife for under $30. It is an import, but the workmanship, fit and finish are excellent. I own higher end knives, but you would be hard pressed to find a better bang for your buck with the Min-Pin. Nice job, 5.11
