“For me, the stay in the forest is having a good time with just a few things and letting yourself drift, having time for yourself and becoming one with the forest… nature accepts people as they are and lets them find themselves. Using cool equipment and working with wood makes me happy!”

WHAT DOES "BEING READY" OR "BEING PREPARED" MEAN FOR YOU?

“Being prepared for something means learning many skills and improving them through practice so that you can apply them safely at times when it counts. For me, this also includes having the right gear and being able to use it.”

WHY DO YOU HAVE A GO-BAG AND WHEN DO YOU USE IT?

“For me, a go-bag is a backpack that always contains everything I need for my adventures. I use it almost every time I go out in nature. Here I have a fixed system of which gear is in which pocket, so that I can access it immediately, even in poor light conditions. This system is only perfected through constant use.”

WHY IS YOUR RUSH100^TM IDEAL FOR YOU?

“I chose my Rush100 from 5.11 Tactical for my bushcraft trips in the forest because with its 60 liters it is the perfect size, regardless of whether you just want to spend a day in the forest or you are planning an overnighter. I find the stowage system and the many pockets ingenious, as well as the possibility to stow an axe or a saw on the sides. The detachable side pockets are perfectly sized for a 1 liter water bottle or French Press… I love brewing fresh coffee in the forest.

I also find the carrying system of the Rush100 very comfortable and the Molle system on the front and sides gives you a lot of options for attaching other items or pouches!”

WHAT ARE YOUR 3 MOST IMPORTANT ITEMS IN YOUR GO-BAG AND WHY?

“My first item I always carry with me is a water bottle. Always stay hydrated. Very important.

The second one is a knife. With a good knife you can do everything in the woods that helps you to survive… building a natural shelter for staying dry, carving a spear for fishing or getting dry wood for keeping warm at the campfire.

The third item is a firesteel. It works in every weather situation, even when it’s cold like in winter or there is heavy rain and it’s getting wet.”
