Challenging a

GUINNESS WORLD RECORD

86 Peaks. 86 Days. One Shot.

Luca Fois, former Italian Special Forces soldier, is taking on the Dolomites like never before.

His mission?
Tackle 86 of the Dolomites’ highest peaks – all above 3,000 meters – in less than 86 days.

The Challenge

Conquering 86 peaks of the Dolomites, each over 3 000 meters altitude, in record time.

Current record: 86 peaks in 19 years, held by Beppe Zigiotto.

Luca is aiming to do it in less than 86 days.

The Challenger

Meet Luca Fois.

Former soldier with 20 years in the Italian Army Special Forces, and former trainer at the Special Forces school.

Certified in parachuting, diving, mountaineering, and survival – with advanced skills in hiking, climbing, trail running, navigation, and energy management at high altitude.

Pushing limits at 40+ to prove reinvention is possible. Luca aims to inspire others to embrace change and chase new challenges – no matter their age or background.

PUSHING BOUNDARIES, RESPECTING LIMITS

After walking 505 km – like walking from Milan to Marseille, but always uphill – with about 210,000 kcal burned (the equivalent of running 80 back-to-back marathons), the team had to make the difficult decision to stop.

A painful choice, but a necessary one. Luca's body began to send unmistakable signals: extreme weight loss, tremors, and loss of balance. In Luca's words:

"Dying up here, out of sheer stubbornness would have been disrespectful – to the mountain, to those who climb with me, and to life itself."

Strength is about pushing your boundaries and daring the near impossible, but it is also about recognizing when to listen.

They conquered 60 summits in 53 days together – an incredible accomplishment that stands on its own. While the world record attempt has ended, Luca and his team has already proven their immense strength and resilience, showing that the greatest victories are often personal.
