Knives & Bladed Tools
- The sale, possession, transportation, and use of knives are subject to a wide variety of local, state, federal, and international laws. As a result, it is your responsibility to familiarize yourself and comply with all laws that might be applicable to your purchase, possession, transportation, use, or resale of our knives. To do so, we recommend that you contact your local law enforcement agencies.
- We are proud to say that our knives and bladed tools are sharp! So be careful when unsheathing and handling them.
- Use two hands when unsheathing a knife or bladed tool; do not attempt to unsheathe a knife or bladed tool with one hand.
- If the knife or bladed tool seems to be stuck, STOP! and don’t attempt to “force it.” Instead, contact 5.11 Customer Service.
- Do not leave a knife or bladed tool unattended when open or unsheathed.
- Do not permit children to use or play with the knife or bladed tool.
- Knives and bladed tools are meant to cut; don’t use them to pry, hammer, etc.

Glass Breakers
WARNING: This tool is not intended to break windshields or laminated glass; it has only been tested on tempered glass. You will need to familiarize yourself with the type of glass in your vehicle. Use only as instructed. Every tool’s performance will be impacted by external factors, including some that may not have been contemplated. Before using this tool, review the important additional safety and usage information located below.
Glass Breaker Instructions (Spring Loaded):
- Place the end of the glass breaker cylinder perpendicular to the bottom corner of the side window and push firmly until the spike releases and breaks the glass.

Seatbelt Cutters

- This tool is designed to cut through webbing commonly used in passenger vehicle seatbelts. Use only as instructed. Every tool’s performance will be impacted by external factors, including the grip strength of the user and others that may not have been contemplated.
- Place hooked blade onto edge of seatbelt strap (webbing) and cut across the strap until it separates. Inspect tool periodically for sharpness and functionality.

Additional Safety Information for Plate Carriers
- Follow plate manufacturer instructions for use.
- Ensure plates are properly secured so that they do not fall out when in use.
- Secure the vest snuggly against your body (NOTE: or other general fit instruction).
- When using fitness plates:
- Understand that fitness plates do not provide ballistic protection.
- To reduce the risk of serious injuries and potentially fatal health events, consult a fitness or medical professional to ensure that it is safe for your physical and medical condition before starting a new exercise program. Use only for exercise with proper form and technique. If you are unfamiliar with proper exercise techniques, consult a fitness professional for instruction.
- When using with ballistic plates or other armor:
- Understand that while ballistic plates and other armor inserts provide some protection, they cannot protect what they do not cover.
- The National Institute of Justice has developed a guide regarding the use of body armor and it incorporates the ASTM E3003 Standard that provides recommendations for measurement and fitment. E3003 Standard Practice for Body Armor Wearer Measurement and Fitting of Armor. Check with your department for more information on the standard.
Protective & Water-Resistant Footwear
- Footwear featuring safety toes has been tested to ASTM 2413-18, CSA Z195 and EN ISO 20345 standard.
- Waterproof footwear has been tested to ASTM 2413-18 and EN ISO 20345/20347 standard
- Blood Borne-Pathogen Resistant footwear has been tested to ASTM F 1671-13
- Footwear featuring puncture-resistant midsoles has been tested to ASTM 2413-18, CSA Z195 and EN ISO 20345/20347 standard
- Footwear featuring slip-resistant outsoles has been tested to ASTM 2413-18 and EN ISO 20345/20347 standard.

- Even though a specific footwear style has been tested to a particular standard, the footwear might not provide protection against hazards or situations that differ from those encompassed by these standards.
Blood-Borne-Pathogen-Resistant Products
- An independent laboratory has tested this product and has found that the barrier materials in this product provide passing results when tested in accordance with ASTM F 1671, Standard Test Method for Resistance of Materials Used in Protective Clothing to Penetration by Blood-Borne Pathogens.
- It is important to note, however, that, even though product materials may have passing results in accordance with ASTM F 1671, they might not provide an adequate barrier to all viruses and other blood-borne pathogens under all exposure conditions. Further, these products will not protect the wearer from exposure to all viruses and other blood-borne pathogens under all conditions of use.

Our certified gloves have been tested to meet one or more of the applicable standards below. Please note that the applicable standard(s) that our certified gloves meet vary depending on the 5.11 style number and the intended use of the gloves.

No Melt No Drip (NMND) Materials
- An independent laboratory has tested this material and has found that the material is not melting and dripping when tested in accordance with Flammability Test (ASTM D6413/D6413M-15).
- It is important to note that NMND does NOT mean that these materials offer fire resistance or retardant protections.
Certified Hi-Vis Garments
- An independent laboratory has tested the material used in the product and has found that the materials provide passing results for chromaticity when tested in accordance with ANSI/ISEA 107-2020 Standard Test Method.
- It is further evaluated for Type and Class based on ANSI/ISEA 107 standard.
Certified EN343 Garments for Rain Protection
- An independent laboratory has tested the material and the full garment for the level of rain protection the garment can provide, in accordance with EN343 Rain Protection standard.

Flashlights: High Lumen > 700 output

Important Information
- The MEDIUM brightness setting is recommended for continuous use. This setting will provide a longer run time and less accumulated heat
- Operating time for your flashlight depends on continuous or intermittent use
- Intermittent operation extends run time on the battery
- CREE LED emitter is rated for 50,000 hours
- lnternal Lithium Polymer battery has an estimated 300 recharging cycles
