I bought this bag as a EDC while I was overseas. It worked very well. I was able to keep valuable items on me without having to sacrifice my mobility. Now that I am back stateside I still use it as a 12-24hr bugout.
I did a lot of comparison shopping as I knew pretty much what I wanted. Fortunately I found detailed reviews on YouTube that gave me a much better perspective on the size. The 2-Banger is exactly what I wanted. Construction is excellent. Design is excellent. Zippers are the best.
The handgun pouch on the back is big enough for a sub compact 380 like a Sig P238. Anything larger is too big but that isn't a deal breaker for me.
Just got this bag, I am using it as my "specialty" work bag as there are some items I carry only for work and also I need to change between 2 pistols at times. I am buying a 2nd one and building a "shooter response" bag for someone else which I think it is great for.
The only 2 things I found that may add to it is if there was a pen sleeve or 2 in one of the compartments (i use those for pen size tac lights) and a smaller mesh zipper pocket (like on the ZAP pack in top of main compartment) maybe on the inside flap of the "front" pocket across from the bungee mesh pocket or making one of the pockets zip where you could store some things that you may need, but may not use a lot like a mini leatherman and don't want it to fall out.
This is a great all around bag. I usually put my stethescope, safety glasses, spare gloves, and other misc items into it and leave it in my truck while on shift. Works great as a grab and go bag for all calls.
I use in my daily medical office duties and when I travel with medical mission teams to carry all of my infection control equipment, stethoscope, and other support equipment I use on a daily basis.
From the picture in the catalog it looked bigger but it was not. If it had a few more inches in the larger pocket it would help. But so far it does me well.
I use 2-Banger Bag basically for EDC, operational and short trip purposes. Because it is also compact, I also keep inside my Rush 24 as a "pull out bag" for short trip purpose. 5.11 truly lived up to their name again and they ready listen to end user's needs and ideas. This is the fifth 5.11 product I gave 5 stars to (in addition to Rush 24, Moab 6, Taclite Pro shorts and Double Duty Belt). Starts with the right rugged material that is also easy to use(not too stiff and don't need break in). Secondly is the very comfortable wide 2 inch well-padded and rubberized shoulder strap. This shoulder strap also comes with a very well-thought and innovative molle panels which I can customise the type of pouch to attach on it. There are also molle panel on both sides of the bag which further add versatility and functionality to it. Zipper are smooth and also designed to be used even when wearing gloves. There are total 4 very well-thought designed pockets. There are pockets or elastic organisation straps within certain pockets. 2 quick access velcro pockets add even more value to this bag! Highly recommended again!
This is my favorite EDC, I have had it for a year.It is light weight and very well constructed.I have a collection of these bags from other makers. They have all been retired. The 2 Banger is the perfect size.Small enough to be unobtrusive, yet large enough for a wallet ,keys, knife, small camera, and my CCW hand gun with magazines. I have a 5.11 cell phone pouch on the shoulder strap.
The design is very nice however it is not 1050 denier as advertised, it's a thinner maybe a 500 denier and I was very disappointed.
This bag would have been incredible if it really was 1050 denier.
I bought this product for my wife. She was looking for a way to carry her pistol without having to put on her belt and holster. This bag makes it very easy. It will primarily be used for walking the dog around, but she will likely use it in other places as well. We aren't really using the bag as I think 5.11 intended, but it will still serve a great purpose.
My new favourite EDC bag
