I wrote a review when I first bought these boots. These are the best lightweight boots I've worn in decades. Ive kept my 1989 desert boots in service util they finally rotted out several months ago. These boots require only one adjustment if you are taking them into the field and not wearing them for day to day no operator use and that is longer laces. These are what I call. "civilian laces" in that they are sized exactly to fit when not in a hurry. If you work in the field and time of transition is important than change the laces so that they are longer and do not unlace several loops when taking off. longer laces will solve the time consuming process of replacing when cold, wet or in a hurry. Lastly the only negative about these boots is that they are super hard soled and while that has its pros it forces you to add liners if they'll fit for you. OVERALL these are the boots I choose for 5-10 mile work on the beach or in the sand and the price is on point. After three months now they've worn perfectly and not worn out or lost a seam at all. I am both in the water and in the sand weekly so I put them through their paces often. These boots do stretch so if they seem tight when you first get them just hold on a week cause they're going to loosen up a bit for sure. I gave them a 5 star even with the adjustments simply because most boots are heavy and quite often desert boots don't have drainage holes and those are a must for working in the desert or on the beach. Hope this helps. Lead from the front! Hooyah!

Best ive worn since 1989

Ive been wearing the same VERY worn desert boots to train the military and military candidates since 1989 because Modern desert boots and even the active duty issued boots are what I call ADMIN ONLY boots. Not in the field boots. Put on the New Skyweights and for the first time a modern pair of boots is built to hit the ground running. I spend many hours per week in the Sand, on the road and in the water with candidates and these are very simply, the best boots I've put on since I put on my original issue 2 decades ago. Well done 5.11! Hooyah!

All I can say is wow, it very comfortable, once you get the right size. Sky weight is very light I feel like I'm wearing a pair of tennis shoe, very agile, these boot are very high quality made and well with the price. I bought 2 pair, they even have orthopedic memfoam inserts. Just make sure you get 1 size larger do to bangladashes measuring system seams to be off by 1/2 a size.
