I bought myself a couple of pairs of these for patrol duty, and have been wearing them for a bit over a month now. They're cool and comfortable, whether sitting in the vehicle, moving around normally on foot, or engaged in higher-impact physical activities. They seem to be just wind-resistant enough not to be TOO cool now that the colder weather is arriving. I'm impressed enough that I've just ordered myself another pair!
Just two small criticisms:
First, they tend to ride up at the cuffs substantially when I sit down in the vehicle... I usually have to make some adjustments while seated, which can be a bit annoying. Also, I don't know the intended purpose of the small patch of velcro closure in the flashlight pockets, but it's a bit of a pain in the neck... (easily removed, though).
One nice touch that might be considered in future would be the addition of a cuff pocket above the right back pocket similar to one of 5.11's other models, for either a backup pair or primary pair for those who don't utilize a full duty belt. (On a premium pair of duty trousers like this, I think it's a reasonable expectation.)
These pants are excellent for everyday duty wear. They're durable and have lots of room for gear. It comes in handy for a smaller guy like me. I don't have much more room on my duty belt. They still have a professional look to them. My only issue is they haven't had these available in my size in a while. Get some more 32 waist pants soon.
