I work in a warehouse for 8hrs. And I'm on my feet all day after a short break in. These boots are comfortable and easy on and off. I bought them in april I hope they last without falling apart.
These boots are simply outstanding. I wear them everyday and everywhere. I live in the badlands of Eastern MT and they are perfect for hiking in some of the roughest terrain in all of the land. I take them on 30 mile expeditions in the mountains and wear them going out to eat at a restaurant. Although these are NOT winter boots. They are warm enough to wear in the winter with wool socks but they are awful on ice and packed snow. Absolutely zero traction on icy surfaces. I work in the dirt everyday and my socks stay clean. Step in a deep puddle or a creek and you will feel little to no wetness. If you are looking for a boot that you can wear for vigorous activities, casual outings, and be comfortable 24/7 then these are the boots for you. I will be purchasing these boots until they are no longer made or till the day I die. Well done 5.11
I have had these for over four years, and they have just worn out. Great boot, No break in period and lasted longer than I expected. Just wish the price would come down a bit. Would buy again, no questions asked. probably going to buy two pair (one in black the other coyote). Great boot, hope 5.11 doesn't change a thing with these ATAC boots.
These are the most comfortable boots I have EVER owned. I wear the daily and the comfort level is AMAZING. Will DEFINITELY be buying another pair of 5.11 when its time to replace these!
I've worn these boots to the office and have worn them to a 15 degree Chiefs game. They are amazing in both environments! People say these aren't a cold weather boot, but I just had 2 pair of regular socks on in 15 degree weather for 5 hours and my feet were just fine! They have been such a great pair of boots in any environment I've been in. Highly recommend!
These boots are great! I wear them to play airsoft, for working, and just about anything else. I have had my pair for about 7 months and they hold up really well. If you are looking for a good boot for just about anything, this is it!
I purchased 3 pairs over the last 4 years. It is my absolute favourite boot. But... the one I bought about 1 year ago had an issue with the sole coming off the boot in the front after around 7 months of usage. The one I bought this year developed the same problem within 4 weeks!! Highly embarrassing taking them to a trip into the Moroccan desert and needing to duct tape the soles to your shoes because you have no other shoes with you since you depend on 5.11 quality.
I still love the boot and the ones I bought 4 years ago are still doing their job! It seems production quality went down over the years... sad... since now I need to find another boot as good as this one!
Have two pair, wore one pair for two years for everyday general use to working in the yard then they became my "go to" motorcycle boots. Second pair is now my :-) dress shoes and light hiking/ general wear boot. Excellent breathability and mine have held up rock solid. Insoles are toasting on the first pair now (I mean, I wear these every day for the most part) so I may make these my trashy beater boots and get a third pair for biking specifically. -- Good stuff -- Not waterproof (nor expected to be but they do hold up pretty damn well to rain/snow for boot with side zip and venting.
I've had these suckers since July 2015, and up to this point I can say that the A.T.A.C. Boot is well worth getting. They have been worn six days out of the week for about sixteen hours out of the day... in the Middle East. Let's just say that they are well worn in. Extremely comfortable and I only needed to change the provided insole once. After nine months of wear these are the things that have worn down on me.
Front toe guard coming off of boot. Easy super glue fix.
Original shoelaces wearing out. Using zipper helped reduce that wear/tear.
Back part of boot (fabric where the circle part is) is coming apart.
Minor gouging on the rubber sole.
Would I buy these again? Absolutely. Recommend them? You bet.
I'm a Army vet and have worn a lot of boots both military & civilian. These boots have to be the lightest I've ever worn! I've been wearing these boots almost every day for about 6 months and they have been holding up excellent. I was concerned about the side zipper not holding up well, but I haven't had one problem. I live up north and due to the mild winter I wore them constantly. Here's where they fall short, but they are NOT a winter boot! They are not waterproof even though the silicone spray helped repel some water. The treads are not good on ice and they are not rubber treads. If you need a good boot and you don't plan on snow, I highly recommend these boots!
