First off, I'm a land surveyor, I am on my feet all day every day. I go through swamp, forests, huge construction sites, and everywhere in between. I've had a pair for almost 2 years now and they are still going strong(aside from the bottom starting to come off on my right boot) I'd highly recommend these boots to anyone that has a rough outdoor job. Oh! Still comfortable using the original insole.
They fit perfectly at the store, but slipping in a small insole for my flat feet made the boots a touch too tight. Also, the leather on the toe cap has worn down quite quickly, making polishing them nearly impossible. The waterproofing and side zip feature are tremendous, though.
Purchased my first pair approximately 4 years ago. Replacing them now simply because my employer is purchasing me a new pair, but they are still in great shape! I've worn them a lot, with a lot of walking and standing. Never had any foot problems, etc. I would definitely recommend this boot for law enforcement and security work.
I wore these boots over 4 years before the zipper on the boots quit would highly recommend these boots
To get an 8" side-zip, waterproof safety boot for such an affordable price is great, but they are a bit too tight to accommodate any aftermarket insoles. A bit more width would make these perfect, in my opinion.
I am a correction officer and these boots do not hold up to a lot of walking and standing on concrete
I got issued these for work. I am a female, and unfortunately my work did not offer these in the female boot. I normally wear a 6 in men's. The 6 was too small, so I upped a size to a 6.5. As they have broken in they have grown EXTREMELY wide for my feet. I can jiggle and slide my foot around in the boots. I am not sure why just a half size difference in these boots is so great, but I am not impressed by this. Maybe this is normal?
I have had tried many different brands of duty boots; bates, rocky, etc. When I had my first pair of these boots, they were the most comfortable and easily broke in with no problems. Used to work 12 hour shifts with no problems with these boots, last three years in the Florida weather (heat, humidity and water) My second pair lasted almost four years. So I don't understand where others have had problems. Just wish the price would come down a bit. Since I no longer work in Law Enforcement (due to injury) I still wear these boots (the last pair was is coyote) and they have lasted four years. I hope 5.11 does not change anything with these boots.
I bought these 10 months ago, my first pair of leather boots. Now i don't get into much water or grease or even farm work, I use them for motorcycling and work. I am dissapointed that the leather has cracked and broken where my toe bends and the sole has started seperating. (Remember to consider that I never oiled them). Overall not bad for the price I'm sure they'll last long if you oil them.
very well built and lightweight best boot ive found for under $100.00
