Excellent jacket with much versatility!

I have used this jacket for everyday wear in the coldest winter on record in Chicago in 2014 and this jacket has proven itself time and again. It's very warm, comfortable and looks great.

The many pockets are perfect for storing winter gear. I place my gloves in the chest document pockets for a quick storage solution. I commute by train each day and often walk to the station under darkness and the sleeve pockets are perfect for my ATAC L2 flashlight which I can easily grab if I need.

The front pockets are roomy and provide shelter from the elements, keeping my bare hands warm by just slipping them inside.

During the day at the office, the inside fleece liner makes a perfect garment to cut the chill out of the office air.

Overall I say if you are thinking about getting this jacket, wait for a discount sale and go for it. You will not be disappointed.

I live in a cold climate and this jacket has kept me warm for the last two years. It is comfortable and easily holds everything you need for any outing. It is a winter style jacket when fully assembled so it can seem bulky, but this aids in its ability to conceal even large frame autos. Chest pocket are back up belt system compatible and very useful. Very pleased so far and I would buy again.

I have worked in the private security industry for over 13 years now. So I have tried many different jackets over the years. And although it doesn't get very cold here in Texas, this jacket provides excellent warmth for the times it does get cold. However, the outer jacket provides absolutely no warmth whatsoever in the pockets for your hands. So my hands freeze every time unless I wear gloves. I can't understand why this jacket would cost so much and not have fleece lined pockets. But I received this jacket as a gift when it first came out a few years ago and it is still one of the best jackets for cold weather that I have ever used.

At first, I was really impressed with the jacket. It looks great, has a real nice liner, and has tons of pockets. But it's really cut for more stocky people I think. Although it fits my chest fine, it's just too big around my lower torso. And despite being an XLT, it's also cut an inch or so too short in the sleeves.

I bought this coat last winter and it is the best coat I own! Used it on EMS calls and it got smelling gross and body fluids all over it. Threw it in the wash and it was fine. Washed it about 3 times in a month and it never got damaged in any way.

I've owned this jacket for about two years. Overall I must say this is a nice jacket. It's kept me dry and warm.

Durability: Everything has held up very well. The inside lining of the outer jacket has torn at the left sleeve. This is a minor inconvenience, but I feel it should be mentioned.

Performance: The jacket IS very warm. I love going outside in rain, snow, cold, etc. This jacket has performed well during long walks, hikes, playing with dog, and walking through brush. For the most part, the jacket keeps you dry.

Fit: Yes, it is a little bulky (as expected), however still comfortable enough to maneuver around. I feel the jacket could be an inch or so longer, but that is my personal preference.

Cons: Besides the aforementioned sleeve tearing and being a little short... I would say the jacket is not 100% waterproof. I once had a slip of paper ruined that was stored in a sleeve pocket (fully zipped). Sometimes the sleeves are a bit wet after an extended duration of time in the rain. However I have never been "soaked" in this jacket, and overall it keeps you pretty dry.

My main complaint is that the hood does not stay in place in high winds. When riding a bicycle in the rain, or running, the wind can easily blow the hood back and my face/head exposed to the rain. I've managed to rig it to stay down at times... but ultimately this is the reason why I will move to a different jacket. I would recommend improving this feature.

Overall: Great jacket for everyday use, cold weather, and light rain/weather protection. For the price, I would expect better quality and not to experience very simple issues such as a hood that cannot secure down.
