I tried using this with an ATAC A2 (the mid-sized light) and it was terrible. The light would constantly pop off the clip. I purchased an ATAC A1 which is more comparable in size to the clip itself and have had less difficulty, but I'm constantly checking to make sure the light is still there and hasn't popped off.
The only thing holding the flashlight in the clip is the flashlight's belt clip, so if there is any upward pressure on the flashlight (i.e. when you sit down, bump it on the arm of a chair, etc) it is prone to coming off the clip.
The small tab it comes with to adjust for the size of your belt is also easy to lose and they only give you one.
I do however prefer this to the newer style "holster":
This clip holds the light closer to my person than the holster does, which is important when trying to put on bunker gear.
Has slots and a piece of plastic to adjust to different size belts. All my 5.11 belts must be wider and/or thicker, so there is no way to make this light holder fit snugly -- it slides around. Lost 5.11 light the second day. Either the clip on the light is not strong enough (but if too strong, would impede drawing it) or the holder is too flimsy and loose.
It's a nice piece, the flashlight requires more force than I thought would be necessary to secure into the belt holster and it would be nice if the belt size adjustment clip had a recessed area in the holster for storage when not being used otherwise it will get lost because it is small. I wear different size belts depending on which job I'm at and I'm waiting for the day that I'll lose the adjusting clip. Otherwise, it's a good piece of equipment.
Clip compact easy to use. But the snap holding it to the belt flemsy and breaks easy. A must have so get a couple back up replacements.
Easy on and easy off.
Don't waste your money
Great duty clip. As a paramedic I work nights and have my light on my belt on every call. The clip holds great, especially on larger heavier belts. The only down fall is I wish it was made of a more sturdy material. The plastic tabs broke after about 8 months of daily use.
Good thing to keep your flashlight out of the way.
Flashlight is constantly coming out of this belt clip; especial when seated in vehicle or station recliners. Have tried different positions on my belt with limited success; best is when it is placed next to another large item like portable radio.
If you remove the clip from the flashlight, flex it in and then reinstall it the retention is much better but it can be hard to get into this clip.
I purchased the ATAC A2 Flashlight with this clip. Crazy about the light. I love it. Hate the clip.My main concern is that my light has fallen off the clip multiple times. While sitting in a vehicle and while walking the light would fall out, sometimes without me noticing. Nothing like reaching for your $65 flashlight to find that it's not there. It's also embarrassing to have the LEO on scene have to pick up after you.Bottom line, it's not an expensive clip, but it's not worth losing the money you spent on the light.
