It's built to last and very sturdy. The heavier nylon is great and the mesh lets it breathe. Its definitely worth the money.
I weigh 145 and stand 5' 8". I ordered the regular size. I played with the adjustments and I like the fit. The quality is serious and that is getting harder to find. It works for me.
when I started looking for a set up I was not impressed with selection out there. This vest is a blank slate and with a little thought, its a master piece, I can carry 3-6 30 round AR mags, 4 hi cap pistol mags, a flashlight, and a couple other pockets for whatever. Im 6-4 and thick chested so a big guy needs the 4x vest and what I would change is longer shoulder straps..
at the bottom of the front and back of the vest there are attachment clips. would be nice if they made an accesory to connect ur fatigue/duty pants to the vest. so when u move.. or run the vest doesnt slide up and keeps ur pants in place (just as in suspenders)
Holds a 6 mag pouch well, doesn't sag. Once adjusted, it stays put. Plenty of room for gear. Mesh... nuff said there. Fits over bulky lvl 3a + Ceramic rifle plate carrier no problem...
This is a nice vest and it will cost you a couple hundred more to outfit it.
When your a big guy though finding a vest that actually fits is very difficult.
This vest fits and has growing room.
My only con is it could have been longer in the torso.
I will have figure out how to keep it riding up on the body.
Maybe 5.11 will figure it out for me.
I bought 3 of these vests 1 for my son 1 for my wife and 1 for myself these are for a bugout scenario, and use while on a range. the fit is very adjustable im 6ft 270lbs and I have plenty of adjustment left over. very sturdy.
Very easy to customize your vest the way you want it. I purchased several of the pouches and holsters and found them to be well made and easily installed. I would recommend this vest to anyone.
Good fit once adjusted.
Lots of attachment points, both webbing and velcro. The webbing goes all the way up, since there are no shoulder pads. Instead the straps in the shoulder area are covered with non-slip material for holding a rifle butt. Unfortunately this makes the straps too thick for some tight-fitting MOLLE gear (GrimLocs or even Speed Sticks. You can get them on, but it's work. If I had my way, I would have stuck to regular webbing, and maybe have a MOLLE/velcro attachable rifle pad instead.) This is really my only quibble with this vest, so i give it 4.5 stars.
I am 5'9" 186lbs, 44" chest, 32" waist and the Regular slipped on like it was made for me, no adjustments.
This is very heavy duty, but the mesh lets it breath.
Great MOLLE integration limited only by your budget and imagination and leaving enough room for the rifle stock.
The mesh is a little stiff right out of the bag, but I am confident it will break in as others have said.
Only improvement I would make is zippers for the pockets instead of velcro.
