I am buying these over time and will buy more. My favorite feature is that there are plenty of pockets in different configurations to organize a large variety of items. If you carry flashlights, wallets, cell phones, knives, magazines or whatever you need to stay equipped with, there is likely a pocket made for your application. The magazine pockets are a tad wider than the others so my passport wallet fits perfectly instead of snug like in the other pants. The durability factor is higher too. They may be expensive, but they are worth buying.
So, just to start off, I didn't NEED these pants. I did, however, want them. I used an annual uniform allowance to buy them which made the purchase price inconsequential. I have worn these pants for the past month during 24 hour shifts as a firefighter/paramedic. They are true to size and have about 4" of waist adjustment either way (+/- 2"). The adjustment is different than the usual stretch adjustment in most 5.11 pants. The pockets are well thought out and very roomy without being too bulky. I'm still getting used to the horizontal front pocket openings, but they are growing on me. I absolutely love the magnetic openings instead of the Velcro. I hate to carry anything on my belt because of bulk and I'm frequently in tight spaces and these pants have room for everything. There is freedom of movement all around and they don't feel stiff or bulky. They distribute the weight in my pockets very evenly. The material seems to show lint, fuzz and pet hair a lot more than my other 5.11 pants, but not so much that I mind. I have used the internal knee pads twice and they are much better than the 5.11 neoprene pads that I've used before. They seem quite hot when you're seated for some time and cause you to sweat more than usual. They also print very much and almost make you look awkward. They do work very well, however, I was more concerned with damaging the pant material than my knees when wearing them since I would find myself kneeling on blacktop and concrete when I normally wouldn't if I wasn't wearing them. Bottom Line: They launder very well and are very comfortable to wear and have enough pockets and features for almost any front line professional.
A well rounded pair of pants that seem to be perfect for tactical operations. Haven't had the. Very long, but they seem well constructed and durable. The adjustable waist band is definitely a plus as my weight fluctuates and I'm able to tighten them up or let them out if needed. Also love the magnetic pocket buttons. No more Velcro that could give away your position or announce your presence when trying to get something you need out of your pocket. The fit is great and storage is perfect with the amount of pockets. Price is steep, but that's what uniform reimbursement is for. Time will tell if these pants justify the price. I wear tactical pants for work every day and I'm hoping these pants hold up like my other 5.11 pants have. Very pleased so far.
Looks so cool & I believe xprt series will be the best suit system for special people.
